Greg Mortenson is an anti-terrorism warrior in the Islamic strongholds of
Afghanistan and Pakistan, and his main weapon is schools... "Americans are now learning that we can't fight the war on terrorism
with bombs, but with books," said Mortenson, 48, founder of a movement
that has built 55 schools in those two countries in the past 13 years, educating 24,000 children.
I can't think of a better cause for Americans to support. His Pennies for Peace raises money from American schoolkids by collecting pennies to build his schools. His new book is Three Cups of Tea: One Man’s Mission to Fight Terrorism and Build Nations One School at a Time. (Full story: Rocky Mountain News)

his father and he finally came upon him...

An Act of Kindness happened to me yesterday, in The Illawarra, NSW - Australia.
I was at the chemist needing a perscription filled as I was suffering from a very bad ear infection, but unfortunately I did not have all of the money to cover what I needed. This woman I have never met before was in the chemist and could see how ill and distraught I was. She asked me, "How much do you need?"

For years, while working, I have
watched
world crises come and go. CNN changed the way war was viewed. As their
satellites delivered the same images to countries across the globe at
the same time, we viewed the images together. I noted another revolutionary development
happening in the past weeks in the Middle East : The Arab World, The
Israeli World and The Western World all reported the same
facts regarding news from Lebanon.
