  • First World Congress of Imams and Rabbis for Peace began in Belgium (2005)
And, on this day in 1941, US President Franklin Roosevelt delivered his Four Freedoms Speech within the State of the Union Address. He named four fundamental freedoms that humans "everywhere in the world" ought to enjoy: Freedom of speech and expression, including the right to dissent; Freedom to worship God in one's own way; Freedom from want and Freedom from fear.
