A Million Books for Needy Kids

The goal for Scholastic Book Club’s ClassroomsCare initiative was for classrooms to read 100 books each, a total of one million books. The reward? Scholastic would donate one million new books to children in need. By the deadline, more than 70,000 classrooms reported they had read a grand total of 7 million books. A teacher from Michigan wrote, "Our class was so excited to read 100 books so that other children could have books too. Thank you for giving us a way to care."
