Hong Kong and Guangdong, China's fastest growing province, announced ambitious targets for reducing the air pollution that is choking southern Chinese cities and discouraging foreign investors. By 2010 they hope to to cut sulphur dioxide emissions by 40 %, nitrogen oxides by 20%, airbourne particulates by 55%, and volatile organic compounds by 55 %.| Frontpage |
