The Canadian government is pledging an additional $50 million in aid for famine-relief efforts in East Africa and urging Canadians to be generous in donations toward alleviating the growing humanitarian crisis in the region.
In addition to government funds, Ottawa will match any donations Canadians make individually to charities working on drought-relief efforts in the region.
