Finally, a program most Democrats and Republicans agree on.
The House of Representatives voted on Friday to inject an additional $2 billion into the government’s popular Cash-for-Clunkers program to encourage Americans to trade in old automobiles and buy new, fuel-efficient vehicles.
Suddenly-booming car dealers were bolstered through the weekend by the promise of government rebate incentives of $3,500 to $4,500 for 250,000 new car sales.
President Obama says the stimulative program has succeeded beyond his expectations.
