blue-ridge-mtsA federal appeals court rejects Bush Administration efforts to weaken Clean Air emission rules on aging coal-fired power plants. The vote was unanimous that the changes violated the Clean Air Act. Only Congress can authorize revisions in the law.

New York Attorney General Eliot Spitzer led the court fight and called Friday’s ruling “a major victory for clean air and public health” and a “rejection of a flawed policy.”
