Tesla Motors' goal is to design a sports car that would go as fast as a Ferrari or Porsche — but run on electricity. Their first model, "a sleek two-seater called the Roadster" looking something like "a Lotus Elise", will be unveiled next month for prospective buyers in Santa Monica.
"With about 80 employees, Tesla just raised $40 million from high-profile investors and it plans to start selling its first model next year."...
 

Maintainance Man Jumps in Pond with Alligators to Rescue Trapped Teens

A Florida maintenance worker, Rafael Martinez, jumped into a pond to save two teens trapped in a sinking car surrounded by alligators. Martinez grabbed a stick and tried to battle the gators and free the kids whose car doors were stuck... I would like to see a picture of this hero! (Local6.com)

Research indicates that the touch of a loved one — even the touch of a stranger — can boost the immune system, halt or slow the progress of disease, and reduce the experience of pain. Scientists now guess that touch communicates emotion:
"When people were touched by a stranger they could not see, who had been instructed to try to communicate a particular emotion, they were able to tell the emotional state of the other person with great accuracy." (The Independent)
