31 year old Kevin Pratt of Milwaukie, Oregon watch a man jump into frigid water, trying to swim to a dock 50 feet away in the Willamette River.
"I noticed he wasn't a strong swimmer," Pratt said. "He was slowing down. I was concerned that he wasn't going to make it to the dock."
The flailing man lifted his arms, once, twice and went under. Although he has no formal training as a lifeguard, Pratt gave in to instinct and dove in.
The man was developmentally delayed and had wandered off, walking ten miles
