Napster Co-Founder Invests $600 Million in Public Health

A billionaire entrepreneur is making it his mission to help solve some of the world’s biggest health problems.

Napster co-founder and former Facebook President, Sean Parker, who is estimated to be worth $2.8 billion, announced the creation of the San Francisco-based Parker Foundation.

The foundation will focus on civic engagement and global public health, including innovative treatments for disease. The 35-year-old philanthropist will also continue his funding of work on cancer immunotherapy, malaria eradication, and allergy research.

On the foundation’s website, Parker says, “Our projects may take years or even decades but they will be achievable in our lifetime.”
