Radio Host Uses Airtime to Get Aid for India’s Poor

radio-host-helps-india.jpgMorning radio hosts “Bob & Sheri” (WLNK, “Link” 107.9 FM) have already raised money to sponsor 350 children from a slum in India during a World Vision Radiothon this week.

Tony Garcia, who directs the national syndication of “Bob & Sheri,” accompanied to India who, upon seeing the slums of Delhi, jumped into action using the power of the media.

It was Lynch’s second trip with World Vision. She and co-host Bob Lacey went to the Dominican Republic two years ago to observe the humanitarian organization’s efforts to help lead poor people to self-sufficiency through health, education and sanitation programs. A radiothon after that visit resulted in listeners sponsoring more than 650 children.
