Kanye West dropped by a New York City charity this week to help with their foster kids gift drive. He spent 90 minutes gift-wrapping presents donated by WalMart for hundreds of young children in the city's foster care system.
He surprised a roomful of busy volunteers at the Eighth Annual “Wrap to Rap” holiday event organized by New Yorkers For Children.
Calling it the "coolest thing Kanye West has ever done", hollywood reporters at TMZ said that though he was not scheduled to attend, he "happened to be in the area and he felt like helping out."
He joined Selita Ebanks and New York Giants’ All-Pro Linebacker Keith Bulluck in their wrapping duties as a DJ spun hip hop and holiday classics. 150 older teens in foster care also helped ready the 2,000 gifts to benefit the youngest children in the system.
The gifts will be distributed by the Administration for Children’s services to children in foster care throughout New York City.

I have found ... that people are thirsting for images of goodness in order to maintain their hope in a difficult world. Sometimes, the measure of our work as journalists is not the professional recognition of colleagues, but rather the mark we make in the hearts of readers who see our work.
