20 brand new homes were presented to families in New Orleans, part of a $20 million gift from Leonard Riggio, the Chairman of Barnes and Noble who watched in shock as the television showed Hurricane Katrina tearing apart neighborhoods.
The 20 families were allowed to pick out the furniture before moving in.
Riggio cried as he walked into the neighboring homes with each family. It brought so much joy to him that he said it was worth every penny.
