Madonna Breaks Ground on Girls School in Malawi (w/ Video)

madonna-malawi-school.jpgMadonna returned to Malawi to break ground and plant a tree for a new school she is funding for poor girls in that country. She says she wants the two children she adopted from the small African nation — David, 4, and Mercy, 3 —  to know their heritage.

Named after her Raising Malawi charity, aiming to provide accommodation, food, education and support to orphans, the Raising Malawi Academy for Girls will enroll 500 girls and cost more than $10 million (US).
