Jeremy Rupke loves watching his 4-year-old son during hockey practice – but he couldn’t help but wonder what the youngster was thinking about out on the ice.

So as a means of getting a sneak peek into his son’s inner dialogue, Rupke placed a microphone inside of the youngster’s jersey – and the results were amusing, to say the least.

Mason, the pint-sized skater in question, can be heard encouraging his friends to take naps; blaming an “old fat paint can” for his falls; and longing for a McDonald’s happy meal.

He can also be heard offering the kind of quality hockey commentary that only a 4-year-old can present.

Rupke later posted a montage of his son’s quips to Twitter where it was viewed millions of times.

“I mic’d up my 4 year old at Timbits Hockey so I could finally understand what the heck he was doing out there. It was… interesting,” Rupke wrote on Twitter.

Social media users left hundreds of their own empathetic comments for Mason with one guy saying: “I’m a 57-year-old beer leaguer and I’ve probably said most of those things out there [too].”
