If you have ever had trouble accommodating the needs of your houseplants, this adorable little flowerpot is here to make your job a whole lot easier.
The Lua Planter is designed to turn your plant into more of a pet by translating its needs into “feelings” that are displayed on a screen.
The planter is embedded with various sensors that can measure soil moisture, temperature, and sun exposure. If the plant is too hot, the cute little face on the screen will start to sweat. If it’s thirsty, it will start to pant. If it isn’t being exposed to enough sunlight, it will turn into a vampire.
In addition to having 15 universal “moods”, the planter also has motion sensors so that it can be entertained by activities.
Furthermore, the planter is connected to an app that allows the user to identify exactly what kind of plant it’s carrying. This way, it can adjust its sensors to the plant’s specific needs.
The anthropomorphic Lua planter was designed by Belgian designer Vivien Mueller of Mu Design. Since he launched an Indiegogo campaign to raise funds for the planter, it has successfully raised more than three times its original financing goal.
The planters are expected to be shipped out to backers in December 2019.
