Iranian cityOur friends at NewsofInterest.tv pulled together a group of photos showing the people and countryside of Iran and many of the photos look as if they were taken in any city of America … or Canada … or Europe.

The women look modern and lovely and the skiing looks fine!

The Photo’s gave me a calm feeling that persists when I think about this article. To me, Iranian cities looked as normal as Chicago, New York or, Boise during a snow fall. Every country is made up of individual Human Beings with distinctly different realities, but like us. I was a road warrior for many years and always smiled as my preconceptions of a place melted away.

I worked with a guy in ’84, Idean was lucky to escape the revolution but loved his country. He wanted to fit in here, so he became ‘Eddy’. I learned allot about Iran at that time and have followed things there. It is a place where respect for diversity does exist, among people. Student demonstrations have diminished due to a sort of handshake agreement with the Government allowing some greater freedoms. Yes, Iran is a volatile place for those who question publicly but Iranians are taking it one day at a time.

I cringe when President Ahmadinejad goes on a rant but how scary is it when our President goes into rhetoric mode ? Demonizing Iranians or Soviets or Anti-Dentites is an old Cold War tactic that implants hatred. The photo’s shown here, were like a warm breeze, clearing away subconscious conflict and doubt. Real people in vastly different places, improve our world every day.

    Of that, I am Positive.
