Mother with twins Kenya-TVvideoIn the spirit of bipartisanship, a mother in Kenya named her twins after the two U.S. presidential candidates. Giving birth on election day, Millicent Awuor, a 20 year-old housewife said, “I named the first twin Barack and the second one Mitt.”

She said she wanted to remember the day of the vote, Kenya’s Standard newspaper reports.

Five new women elected from diverse backgrounds to the Senate will boost the total number of female lawmakers in the upper chamber to a historic level – twenty of 100.

Even with some outcomes still undecided, at least 81 of the 435 members of the House of Representatives will also be women.

The 25-year-old father was in his family’s Upper East Side apartment on Monday night when he looked out the window and saw an SUV taxi lifted by the powerful force of water beneath it.

Candelaria, who is a waiter in New York City, went to save the driver who was nearly drowning. The water was up to Candelaria’s chest, but he managed to pry open the door, with the driver’s help, just in time.
