  1. This article needs to get it’s fact right. It compares numbers of total donations, domestic or foreign in both state and private with only state donations in other countries. The fact of the matter is that according to OECD the United States gives second-least of all the developed countries – only 0,17 % of GDP in foreign aid. Leading country is norway.

  2. I can’t speak for USA Today, but the focus of our interest were the PRIVATE donations by Americans setting a record. . . 300$ billion is wonderfully generous. Our focus was not on government foreign aid,, but personal charity.
