Benefits of Good News

Your Good News Network has changed my life!  -Camille in Seattle

I've felt suffocated by today's news that rains down a storm of death, war and terrorism. I decided to search the web for positive news. Thank you for lifting my spirits, after only 10 minutes of reading I felt better about the world in which we live. -Paul Lastovica

My new Great Mentors Audio Series is in full swing after Sunday's tele-seminar with Happiness mentor and Harvard professor, Tal Ben-Shahar. (right, with me at the Positive Psychology Summit in 2006) Tal is author of the new best-selling book, Happier: Learn the Secrets to Daily Joy and Lasting Fulfillment.

Playback of the recorded seminar is now available for FREE — great mentoring at your leisure. One listener called the 60-minute seminar, "Wonderful!" (All your questions that were e-mailed beforehand were answered on the call.)

Listening to the Seminar, You will learn:

... What to do if it feels like your co-workers are preventing your happiness
...The most important aspect of goals is not their achievement
...The Lasagna principle: Too much of a good thing is, well, not a good thing
...A reason that busy moms in one scientific study did not enjoy time with their kids, and how you can avoid the trap that led to such feelings

You will ALSO LEARN:
  • One way to make major improvements to your life is by introducing 'Happiness Boosters.' Rather than jumping into big change all at once, add new things in small doses that will carry you through your week.
  • The choice between idealism and realism for your life is a false dichotomy — idealism *is* realism.
  • The goal is not to be happy all the time! We should accept that we are human and there is a place and time for every emotion.
Just sign up with your first name and e-mail and you will receive dial-in information about the Great Mentors audio program, which uses a U.S. telephone number to deliver free mentoring at your leisure. You will also receive information about upcoming calls like the October 7 mentoring session with New York Times best-selling author, Debbie Macomber.

**NOTE** The recording with Harvard happiness mentor, Tal Ben-Shahar will only be available until the next Great Mentor tele-seminar, scheduled for Sunday, October 7, at 2:00 PM EST

**COMING October 7: Great Mentors Audio Series, program #2

Debbie Macomber, author of over 150 novels (with more than 60 million books in print), pens her first motivational book, "Knit together: Discover God's Pattern For Your Life." Millions of women have been touched by Macomber's fiction. Now they will learn her own story of success: how, as a busy mom, she rented a typewriter and persevered through countless rejections, knowing only that she wanted to be a writer and God had given her that desire for a purpose. Today the New York Times Bestseller List knows her name well, and her climb to success is a blueprint for writers and non-writers alike for following — and achieving — their dreams. (Plus, the book is a fun and feisty easy read!)

Join Debbie and me October 7 at 4:00 PM (EST) for the live tele-seminar, during which we will take questions from the audience. You can also e-mail me in advance with your questions. (Ninety-five phone lines are available and they will fill up.)

Hi Geri,
Will the recorded seminars only be available by calling a US phone number, or do you plan on having them available on the site to download? I realize this would mean an increased load on your web servers, but it would be a great alternative for those outside of the local calling area.
All the best,
Neil

Hi Neil,

I do intend to offer the files for download in the near future, especially as free bonus items within some marketing plans I have.

Also, my sustainable servers, though non-polluting, offer far less bandwidth than my old hosting company. I've already gone over my limit several times with financial penalty, so bandwidth is not available for this (have you noticed less photos alongside the stories??).

I'm sorry I can't offer the free calls for non-US residents... but you could get skype, right? Or, can't Skype be used for a recorded call?

Thanks for your reply!

Skype is a great idea - I'll look into it!

I understand about the bandwidth issues but I am still interested in last weeks seminar which I only found out about today and therefore missed having access to. In addition, I live in a very rural area with no land phone service and very spotty cell coverage. I have access to the internet through the local library or the graces of a generous employer during my off hours.

Is there a way that you could provide a transcript of the seminars?
