sunflower.jpgThe Netherlands is closing eight prisons due to a decline in crime that has left many cells empty. The Dutch ministry’s research department expects the decline to continue.

Now, I wonder if other countries can’t figure out how this happened and try to replicate it…

  1. Here’s how it happened. The Dutch legalized drugs (which are regulated and taxed like alcohol), thus emptying the prisons of the non-violent drug users which presently compose a huge portion of our prison population. Not only did it empty prisons, but crime rates dropped and the drug mafias and cartels in that area were put out of business.
