The Senate has unanimously passed a resolution apologizing for slavery and the racial segregation known as Jim Crow, asking for forgiveness. The measure was sent to the House, which passed a similar resolution last year.

It is not slavery and segregation that we need to apologise for, it is the near annihilation of the Native Americans and the capture of their lands by conquest.
