What better way to say you love the environment than by building a heart-shaped solar power plant?

This is what the “Heart of New Caledonia” plant will look like when it’s completed on theHeart of Voh GNU Bananaflo French island in the South Pacific. A local beverage company has contracted Conergy Australia to build it.

It was inspired by the nearby landmark, “Coeur de Voh”, or “Heart of Voh” — a naturally heart-shaped mangrove forest, pictured at right.

When finished, the plant will generate enough electricity for 750 homes and reduce carbon emissions by two million tons over it’s 25-year life expectancy.
