"Sinn Fein members have voted to support policing in Northern Ireland for the first time in the party's history, a 'landmark decision' which opens the way to Northern Ireland power-sharing." Eighty-two percent of last year's fourth-graders couldn't read. This year, 73 percent of that same group are reading proficiently. "It should be obvious why a teacher would want to go into a needy school," says Betsy Rogers, National Teacher of the Year in 2003. "I don't see this as being a big sacrifice or a big thing. House Passes Plan to Negotiate for Lower Drug Prices

congressman stupakThe U.S. House of Representatives on Friday passed a bill that would allow the federal government to negotiate with pharmaceutical companies in order to lower drugs costs for Medicare patients. Democrats were joined by some two dozen Republicans to pass the legislation by a vote of 255 to 170.
