Did you see the TV ad by GM over the Thanksgiving holiday? General Motors created a poignant video in which the company gives thanks to the American people for helping them back to their feet.
After a short montage of historical failures and triumphant returns, the commercial ends with the two simple lines:
“We all fall down”
“Thank you for helping us get back up”
In this version, the music is restored to the original song, and some of the natural sound is omitted, but you get the idea.
In 2009 GM entered into bankruptcy and received unpopular government-sponsored loans.
Today, the 102 year old car company has returned to profitability and freed the US government of majority ownership.
