110 years ago today, the Migratory Bird Treaty was signed by the US and Canada. setting rules to protect birds that fly between both countries. This agreement stopped unregulated hunting and saved many bird species from dying out. It has even been expanded to include Mexico, Japan, and Russia— and protects over 800 species.
