The month of August heralded the return of 14 acres of golden sunflowers topping the landscape in Scotland.
Open to visitors through August 23, the Balgone Estate has once again opened its vibrant Sunflower Trail located an hour-and-a-half outside Glasgow.

The event was first introduced in 2023 but has proved so popular it’s returned as an annual event near North Berwick.
Visitors can explore two hours in the sunflower fields, and use the fun props provided to take photos with the Berwick peak in the background.

They can also pick their own flowers—priced at a dollar per stem—before enjoying a bite to eat from food trucks. And, 10% of sunflower sales directly support brain tumor research.
Manager Alex Humphreys says Balgone Estate also offers event space available to rent for activities like yoga classes, wine tastings, and art workshops.
After the endless sea of yellow blooms has faded, the estate transitions to autumn—and they hold a title for the largest pumpkin patch in Scotland.
