Doris and Ricky may seem like an unlikely duo, but they have one thing in common: puppets.

After spending years of his life trying to make it in the traditional work force, Ricky Syers finally found his calling a street performer. He wasn’t the only star of his act, however—he embellished the little shows with his handmade marionettes.

One day when he was performing in New York City’s Washington Square Park, local senior Doris Diether became entranced by his performance.

As a gift for her kindness, Ricky made a puppet of Doris that looks exactly like her life-sized counterpart.
