Earning an A from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology will never be easy, but next spring, students in at least one class will be able to do it for free, without traveling to Boston.
The university announced a plan to launch “MITx,” a set of specially designed Web-only classes that will be graded and offer certificates to those who pass.
