“This meant an abrupt change in my life,” Scholes says. “I had a very successful hot air balloon business, and I had to stop flying. I had to sell my cars as I could no longer drive.”

Then he participated in a six-month clinical trial. He was one of the nine lucky patients who, out of 36, experienced marked improvement in eyesight.
