While Alzheimer’s may be a terrible disease, these first-time parents are celebrating their discovery of a silver lining.

Only hours after Christine Stone gave birth to her daughter Sadie Mae in October, Stone introduced the newborn to her grandmother Setsuko Harmon.

Harmon, who has Alzheimer’s, no longer has any short-term memory and can’t retain information for more than a few minutes.

So even though the 77-year-old kept forgetting that the infant in her arms was her granddaughter, Harmon kept reacting to the news with the same heartwarming expression every time.

The endearing grandmother made news headlines earlier this year when Stone took a video of Harmon’s joy over repeatedly being informed of the pregnancy. “When? October? Ohhhh, that’s exciting,” she kept saying.

And this new video is just as sweet.

“My mom loves her,” Stone told TODAY. “She was here for Thanksgiving and she said, ‘Why can’t I take the baby? I want to take her home’ It’s put some pep in her step.”
