A boy’s first day at school has gone viral ‘to infinity and beyond’, after he recreated the iconic goodbye scene from the Toy Story movie to mark the occasion.

Sean Donnelly-SWNS

Obsessed with the Pixar film, Vinny Donnelly has collected all of the toys featured in the movie, including Buzz Lightyear, Woody, and Mr. Potato Head.

The 4-year-old stood all the toys at the front door of their home in Leicestershire, England to ‘wave’ goodbye to their buddy on his first day at school.

Vinny’s dad took the photo which echoes the tear-jerking scene in Toy Story 3 when Andy finally leaves his toys behind as he heads off to college.

It obviously struck a chord for many. Since posting the heartwarming images on Facebook this week, tens of thousands of people across the world have liked and shared them.

His mom and dad are super proud of him, but admitted, “He isn’t that fussed.”

“Lots of people found it emotional and said it made them cry, but I wanted it to look like his future was bright. It’s been quite tough for all children really this year.”

“If you’ve got kids, you know that feeling,” said the 32-year-old dad, Sean.

“Just starting school for Vinny has been strange for him. Fortunately, he is loving it so far.
