What happens when the crooked cop that put you in jail for a crime you didn’t commit becomes your coffee shop colleague?
Friendship may not be the obvious choice, but that’s the choice that makes this story of Jameel McGee and former police officer Andrew Collins extraordinary.
Arrested on a false drug charge, Jameel spent four years in prison harboring hate for the Benton Harbor, Michigan cop who set him up.
The former officer was later convicted for several phony arrests and spent a year and a half in jail himself.
Yet when the two men were out of prison and found themselves working at the same faith-based café, Jameel realized he had to put aside the past in order to heal, and move forward.
