Arnold Schwarzenegger is helping childhood dreams come true by encouraging kids to stay in school with his 50-ton tank.

When the bodybuilder served in the Austrian National Army back in 1965, he drove the Chrysler V12 tank. In 1991, he spent $20,000 to have the exact same tank shipped over to California.

While some people might be content to use the massive war machine simply for fun, Schwarzenegger is using it to motivate disadvantaged kids in the Los Angeles area.

If kids get good grades, stay out of trouble, and stay in school, he takes them out in his tank to crush stuff.

The former governor says that he used to motivate kids by taking them onto his movie sets – but since he stopped making movies in 2003, the tank is apparently a much better incentive for kids’ performance than offering them a tour of the State Capitol.
