“She realized that Tinder would be an ineffective way of messaging multiple people to plan a night out, (so) she created a secret Facebook group and told the matches about it,” says Mulloy. “The group allowed everyone to chat to together, in one space, and get to know each other.”

The ladies ended up using the group to plan a spectacular night out on the town, which then became the inspiration for Carri, Mulloy, and a woman named Pamela Newenham to team up and create the GirlCrew app.

GirlCrew is an iOs and Android app that works similarly to Tinder – except instead of trying to find romance, it helps women find friendship.

Since they launched the app in 2017, the app has connected over 100,000 female users with new friendships and acquaintances.

One woman who testifies to GirlCrew’s success says that she was at “the lowest point” in her life when she used the app to meet the two women who are now her best friends.

“Getting myself out to meet people was something that I never, ever had a problem with, but without GirlCrew, at this time in my life, it was impossible,” says the member, recalling the night she met her current besties. “[And then] we all just instantly clicked.”
