A blind woman in Henrico, Virginia has been worried for years that one day she would get hit by a car on the busy roadway where she has to go into the street to open her mailbox.

But she doesn’t have any fears today, thanks to a Good Samaritan who used his own money and skills to fix the problem.

After she contacted a local television station for help, they produced a story to broadcast Lynda Tennette’s predicament.

One of their viewers envisioned the perfect solution and purchased a new double-sided mailbox and showed up at her home with his tools.

Wesley Benton, owner of Benton Home Improvement in Richmond, was moved by the story especially because his own great-grandmother was hit by a car while crossing the street to pick up her mail. He installed the easy-access mailbox and got to meet Lynda, who thought the new box was really neat.
